Career Path
Q: Describe your career path. How did you get into what you do now?
A: In 2006 I was working in bus maintenance on Vancouver Island. A friend was looking for a groundworker to work weekends. It was an exciting opportunity and not something I had thought of doing before. I immediately fell in love with the work and started looking for a career in the industry. My favourite part of the work was being outside and climbing trees. Working on Vancouver Island, I had the opportunity to see remote areas that aren’t visited often.
Q: Explain your position. Describe your role with the company.
A: I’m a General Foreperson with the ArborCare® British Columbia operation. The role can change from day to day such as completing estimates, following up on estimates, searching for contracts, reaching out to new potential clients, following up with current clients, communicating with local municipalities, consulting with clients and completing reports, completing health assessments and making recommendations to clients. I am working to create an APM program in the BC operation for 2023.
Life at Wright Tree Service of Canada & ArborCare®
Q: What is your favourite part about your job / working for the company?
A: My favourite part is being outside and getting to discuss trees with clients and co-workers. I’m fairly new to Wright Tree Service of Canada but the communication and teamwork really stand out, there’s always someone willing to help as you grow with the team.
Q: What are you most passionate about professionally? What excites you most about your work?
A: I love bringing education and awareness to clients, potential clients and staff. I’m always seeking opportunities to educate and inspire.
Q: Who has played an influential part during your time with the company & why?
A: It’s difficult to pick just one person, everyone on the team is always willing to help out to ensure your success and the success of the company. When I first started, I had the opportunity to train with Nicole Mychasiuk and learned a lot of valuable information. Terry Richard has also always been available to help when questions arise. Simon Richards helped me become familiar with our BC operation.
Q: What are some words you would use to describe Wright Tree Service of Canada or ArborCare?
A: A welcoming and team-oriented environment.
