(above) Chris is "speed lining" the top of the aspen tree for removal. Speed lining involves a series of rope pulleys and slings to remove the tree and slide it down the line to a safe dropping area. This method is used when there are obstacles below the tree, no drop zone or open space below. In the next two photos, the top of the aspen has been removed.
Peter has climbed the same aspen to speed line the next sections.
